THE BASQUE LEFT STRENGTH HIS CAMPAIGN FOR SELF-DETERMINATION

14.000 people took the streets last Saturday in the main five cities of the Basque Country. This was a strong start for the Basque Left's campaign for self-determination right which will take place during the next couple of months through all Basque towns and cities.

Protesters highlighted that self-determination right is the key to sort the political conflict and denounced the current crisis created because of PSOE and PNV's selfish interests. They called for the setting up of a negotiations table without more delay.

The dramatic situation that Basque political prisoners suffer had a big protagonism in the marchs with special references to Inaki De Juana who is on his 59th day on hunger strike.

In Ireland 25 people gathered in Dublin and 10 in Letterkenny (Co. Donegal) to show solidarity with Inaki during the weekend.
